Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

Though our Retreats are being led by Buddhists and we are practising and teaching Buddhism on our events, you do not have to be a Buddhist in order to come on our retreats or benefit from them.

What is included in the retreat rate?

The retreat rate includes all the retreat activities, including Food and Accomodation. You only have to organise the travel there and back. Cooking and Cleaning will be done by retreat participants.

What is the accomodation like?

In Strodehne, there are simple multi-bed rooms. To live and practise communally is an important part of our retreats. Usually, 2-4 people are sharing a room in a single-sex environment.

What do I need to bring?

Please be sure to bring bed linen, towels and slippers! These items are not available in the house and cannot be borrowed. We also recommend that you bring paper and pens so that you can take notes during the retreat. Otherwise, please bring comfortable clothing for meditation and sturdy shoes as well as weather-appropriate clothing for walks. If you would like to use your own meditation equipment, you can bring that too. Otherwise there are plenty of cushions, mats, blankets and stools available.

Can I get a single room?

In order to accomodate as many people as possible and to create a collaborative atmosphere, we give out single rooms very reluctantly. In the case you have special needs which otherwise would hinder you to participate in the retreat, please contact the retreat leaders.
